Jonathan Beatson-Hird
Director, Managing Director of Rowan Dartington

Jonathan has 23 years experience in the financial services sector during which time he has successfully built four businesses. His experience has covered private wealth management, investment banking and private equity. His core expertise is in the equity market, which has included spending eight years in New York. He was Managing Director at both Barings and Deutsche Bank in charge of equity research, sales and trading for Latin America, where his team of 180, in nine different offices, was consistently ranked number one to three by Institutional Investor over a ten-year period. Jonathan joined Rowan Dartington in 2007 as Managing Director.

Andrew Monk
Chairman and Group Chief Executive

Andrew is Group Chief Executive with responsibility for growing and managing the Group. Andrew graduated from Oriel College, Oxford and has been in the City for over 20 years working at Smith New Court (now Merrill Lynch) in London and New York, Schroders and Hoare Govett (Now ABN AMRO). Andrew’s background is as an equity salesman and over the last 20 years has built a large client base of fund management groups and hedge funds. He has a reputation for actively helping small cap companies achieve their corporate ambitions and grow accordingly.

Before joining as CEO of Blue Oar Plc, Andrew was one of the founders of Oriel Securities and also Joint CEO & Head of Securities.

Andrew Morris
Director, Head of Rowan Dartington Portfolio Management

Andrew has 25 years experience in stockbroking. Andrew started his career with Stock Beech & Co where he trained as a small companies analyst more latterly becoming a specialist institutional salesman. In 1990 Andrew joined Rowan Dartington as one of the founder employees. Initially he worked within the institutional research operation but has for the last fifteen years has been the senior fund manager within Portfolio Management. Working closely with investment professionals he manages a wide variety of clients' portfolios including charities, trusts, ISAs, pensions and offshore investment bonds. Andrew was appointed a director of Rowan Dartington in 2006.

Chris Roberts
Group Finance Director

Chris Roberts is Group Finance Director and has responsibility for the finance, compliance and back office functions across the Group.

Before joining the firm in 1996, Chris spent seven years at MacIntyre Hudson where he qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant. Chris also served on the board of a number of quoted and unquoted companies and was chief executive of The eVestment Company plc (now Evolution Group Plc) until it acquired Christows Group Limited in November 2000, remaining as group managing director of its private equity division until March 2001. Chris has been a director of a number of publicly quoted businesses over the last 10 years including companies in fashion, telecoms, software and retail.

Sarah Tobey
Director, Head of Rowan Dartington Private Clients

Sarah has over 25 years experience in the stockbroking industry. She started her career in the City of London working for Cazenove & Co on private client/fund management, specialising in charity funds. Sarah is one of Rowan Dartington’s founder employees working with the firm since its inception in 1990. Sarah has overall responsibility for Rowan Dartington’s eight branches as well as leading the Taunton office. Sarah manages portfolios for private clients, pension funds, charities and trusts. She is also a Fellow of the Securities and Investment Institute. Sarah was appointed a director of Rowan Dartington in 2006.
