Avoiding Potential Hangovers
The contemporary Lemon Street Gallery provided bright and elegant surroundings for James Hutson’s presentation to clients and guests on 18th May 2010. James’s most recent investment strategy ‘Avoiding Potential Hangovers’ was well received by those attending. The evening concluded with all guests having the opportunity, over drinks, to enjoy a private view of the exhibition by modern abstract artist John Blackburn.

Avoiding Potential Hangovers
Bristol Blue Glass is of historical and world renown, they proved to be kind and generous hosts to Rowan Dartington’s clients and guests on Thursday 20th May, where James Hutson delivered his current quarterly investment strategy ‘Avoiding Potential Hangovers.’ This seminar was well attended and enjoyed a particulary lively question and answer session. A glass blowing demonstration from the talented artisans passionate about their craft concluded the evening.

Pennance Cups – Mixed Open Sponsored by Rowan Dartington
Rowan Dartington were delighted to sponsor both the Festival of Golf Week at Falmouth Golf Club, culminating on the final day with the sponsorship of The Pennance Cup. Darren Horton, Associate Director of Rowan Dartington and Falmouth Golf Club Captain, Tony Drew, presented this year’s victorious couple Mr and Mrs Neville Brown with the 2010 Pennance Cup. The Club President and his wife, Mark and Caroline Bawden, came a very close second in this successful tournament involving 42 mixed pairs.

On 27th April 2010 Rowan Dartington held it’s first in-house investment seminar at its’ head office, Colston Tower. Guest speakers included Patrick Wooddisse from TLT Solicitors, presenting a brief overview of UK tax and it’s impact on investment portfolios. Concluding the evening Aidan Bell from Davis Bell McCraith Wines gave an insight into ‘Wine as an Investment’ which followed with a short wine tasting.

Hereford Expo, Wednesday 3rd March 2010
For the second year, Rowan Dartington attended the Hereford Expo on Wednesday 3rd March. Sue Evans, Head of our Hereford office and Alex Holbech, a member of our Research Team, hosted the Rowan Dartington stand.

The Terrace Bar, Colston Hall was the chosen venue where Rowan Dartington clients were invited to hear James Hutson, Chief Investment Officer, present his latest stock predictions and strategy. After the seminar guests attended an outstanding concert performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by the world famous Vladimir Ashkenazy, the musical pieces played were Tchaikovsky Manfred Symphony and Elgar Cello Concerto with Steven Isserlis solo Cello.

Calcot Manor is one of the most highly acclaimed British country hotels, a former English farmhouse set around a pretty courtyard of lime trees and ancient stone barns. It was in one of these beautifully converted barns that Rowan Dartington clients and guests were invited to join us for drinks and to hear James Hutson, Chief Investment Officer, present the client Investment Strategy.

Pallant House Gallery is home to a collection of British Modern art which has been described as ‘one of the best in the world, second only to Tate Britain in this country’. Clients and guests were invited to this wonderful venue to listen to Chief Investment Officer James Hutson’s presentation and also given the rare opportunity of a private viewing of a major exhibition of Henry Moore Textiles.

Brunel’s SS Great Britain, the worlds first ocean liner was host to Bristol’s final investment seminar for 2009. Those who attended had a guided tour of one of the most important historic ships after listening to James Hutson’s (Chief Investment Officer) Investment Strategy for the last quarter of the year.
